To collect and process diagnostic samples from companion and production animals (by routine and advanced collection techniques). To perform specialised laboratory testing methods and demonstrate knowledge of advanced imaging techniques. Students completing this module will: collect routine diagnostic samples and assist with more advanced collection techniques for samples from companion and production animals; assist with preparation of equipment and the animal patient (these samples can then be processed for examination at the veterinary clinic or veterinary laboratory); have knowledge of advanced imaging techniques; and perform basic microbiological, immunological and biochemical diagnostic procedures.
